Tracking
We use a few standard tools to understand traffic and measure ads. We don't sell personal data.
Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager
GA4 runs across the whole site, loaded through Google Tag Manager. It uses cookies such as _ga to produce aggregated usage statistics: page views, clicks, device and browser type, rough location, and how visitors found us, including UTM tags on our links. We look at reports, not individual people.
- Opt out of Google Analytics:Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
- Google ad personalization:My Ad Center
- How Google uses data from sites that use its services
Meta Pixel
The Meta Pixel (ID 1834450894422209) runs only on our tester page (/testers/) and the tester thank-you page (/tester-thanks/), where it records a Lead (signup). It does not run on the Kit signup page or anywhere else on the site. It uses cookies such as _fbp to measure visits, signups, and ad performance, and to help Meta optimize and measure our ads. Meta processes this data under its own policy.

- Meta ad personalization:Ad preferences
- Industry opt-outs:YourAdChoicesandNAI opt-out
- You can also block third-party cookies in your browser settings.
Ad links and UTM parameters
Links in our ads and emails carry UTM parameters (short tags in the URL) so we can see, in aggregate, which campaigns bring visitors.
Email via Kit
We use Kit (kit.com) to run our newsletter/updates list and our tester list. Kit stores and processes this data for us.
- Newsletter/updates: email address and an optional first name.
- Tester list: email address and an optional first name.
- Kit records email opens and link clicks.
- Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of every email.
Testers
- Testing is voluntary and unpaid. You can skip any task, unsubscribe anytime, and ask us to delete your data or profile.
- We may ask testers to do small tasks on websites and social posts. Those third-party platforms record your actions under their own privacy policies. We may note whether a task was completed.
- Results are published only in aggregate. No tester is identified.
- Credit is opt-in. If you opt in, we keep the display name and optional link you choose for your profile and results credit, plus which tests you took part in. Credit appears only after results are published, and only under the name and link you chose.
- We never publish real names or social profiles without your permission.
Who we share data with
We don't sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers that process it for us: Kit (email), Google (analytics and tag management), and Meta (ad measurement). We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
Cookies summary
- _ga and related _ga_* cookies (Google Analytics): tell visits apart for aggregated statistics. Up to 2 years.
- _fbp (Meta Pixel, /testers/ and /tester-thanks/ only): measures visits, signups, and ad performance. About 90 days.
- Kit form cookies: help forms work and record signups.
- Control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them won't stop the site from working.
Data deletion requests
You can ask us to delete your data at any time. Email Brandon@brandonnickles.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the email address you signed up with.
We will delete your Kit subscriber record (email, name, tester profile, credit name and link, and participation records) and any other personal data we hold about you. We'll also ask Kit to remove it and use the deletion tools Google and Meta provide where they apply. We'll confirm within 30 days.
Data that third-party platforms collect directly (for example, Meta or Google account activity) is governed by their policies; use their tools to delete it.
Your US privacy rights (including California)
Depending on where you live, including California under the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we collect, use, and share.
- Delete your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don't sell data; the Meta Pixel may count as "sharing" under California law. To opt out, email us, use the Meta and Google opt-outs above, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
We won't treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, email Brandon@brandonnickles.com. We may need to confirm your identity, for example by replying from the email you signed up with. An authorized agent can make a request for you with your written permission. We'll respond within 45 days, or within 30 days for deletion requests.
Age
This site is not directed to children. People under 18 shouldn't sign up. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think we have, email Brandon@brandonnickles.com and we'll delete it.
Security and retention
We use reputable providers and limit access to your data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We keep email and tester data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is kept under the providers' retention settings listed above.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites and platforms. We're not responsible for their privacy practices, so read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll change the effective date at the top, and for significant changes we'll notify email subscribers.
